I'd say they're almost exactly even, because they both had a game that they played extremely well to suit the situation's of their respective teams.

Push come to shove, might say Border by a hair's breadth. But was always going to vote for the one with less votes in the poll.

Border is also definitely Australia's and arguably the world's greatest post-war cricketer. This is a hill I am prepared to die on.

But purely as a batsman Ponting was marginally better. He probably would have been even better had he had the benefit of playing under Border, who would have kicked the **** out of him during his big headed youth.
