truthfully im seeing more Aussie opposition to the belated recognition of Lyon as a great spinner than Indian opposition tbh
Probably because we are less prone to praise polished turds. I'm not a fan of using 'belated recognition' as an alternative expression for 'this **** has worn me down with figures instead of just ****ing off'. Lyon is great. Definitely not all time. He is in the Anderson mould.

That's because we're honest, Lyon just isn't that good. He's mostly lucky to have played so many games because the selectors decided to stick with him
hes bloody good, maybe not as good as Ashwin but a fantastic cricketer who is one of Aus’s 10 greatest bowlers of all time

Yes. Nobody is arguing that Lyon is an ATG. But he is capable of SENA performances that are the envy of Ashwin fans.

Because it is harder for spinners there as opposed to design pitches in India where even debutants can win games.
If the pitches in India were so easy for spinners how come guys like Warne and Murali and Lyon don’t do well there

Subzi-beta once again being anti-cricket, shameless of him. Imagine lying so much about enjoying the game when you really don't.

Warne and Murali were disposable in India. What’s the difference?
Difference is that Murali and Warne were still backed as wicket taking threats by their teams but ended up struggling against the best spin players ever, rather than sidelined because they knew playing them would be useless in principle like Ashwin.

There was also no alternative and they didn’t just struggle they were destroyed

But that doesn’t and shouldn’t affect their legacies because it’s selective
