Root even better and as an ODI bat Kallis comfortably edges ButtlerEspecially Buttler. Guys England’s best ever ODI batsmen and a country mile ahead of Kallis as an ODI bat.

Inzamam doesn’t have such wow factor to be said clearly ahead of KallisSame for Inzi. Don’t know on what grounds Kallis can be rated ahead as an ODI bat
What wow factor does Kallis have as an ODI bat??Inzamam doesn’t have such wow factor to be said clearly ahead of Kallis
Sehwag, Clarke weren’t as consistent as Kallis and longevity also plays a partAmong them; I would definitely place ahead Kallis:
Pietersen
Yuvraj
Inzamam
Butler
Bairstow
Du Plessis
Dhawan
Bairstow
Sehwag
Watson
Clarke
Not saying he is the GOAT or anything, but definitely better than Inzamam , although not much differenceWhat wow factor does Kallis have as an ODI bat??
Dude Inzi has a higher SR than Kallis despite playing much of his ODI cricket before Kallis. Plus Inzi has the WC performances as well(92).Not saying he is the GOAT or anything, but definitely better than Inzamam , although not much difference
Kallis has far better average.. If going with WC performance then Yaspal Sharma must be better than Kallis , Amla etc as he was the batsmen who made best impact for India in the 83 World CupDude Inzi has a higher SR than Kallis despite playing much of his ODI cricket before Kallis. I said as well. And Kallis barely averages 4-5 runs more: era adjustmentKallis has far better average.. If going with WC performance then Yaspal Sharma must be better than Kallis , Amla etc as he was the batsmen who made best impact for India in the 83 World Cup
Inzamam has just 1.5 runs more on SRand thats far…I said as well. And Kallis barely averages 4-5 runs more: era adjustment
I would put Yuvi, Pietersen and Inzi on the same boat as well. It's debatable for a few like Clarke or at most Watson; but yeah, Jason Roy and Aaron Finch over Kallis is bs and he is likely in the Top 50.Especially Buttler. Guys England’s best ever ODI batsmen and a country mile ahead of Kallis as an ODI bat.
Definitely. I would say at most some of them are debatable as Kallis' SR was an issue; but Butler, Inzi and Yuvi aren't among those.Sehwag, Clarke weren’t as consistent as Kallis and longevity also plays a part
Also, why isn't Sourav Ganguly, Kane Williamson and Martin Crowe there over the likes of Finch and Roy??50 ODI batsmen better than Kallis not necessarily in order:
1) Viv Richards
2) Sachin Tendulkar
3) AB de Villiers
4) Virat Kohli
5) Michael Bevan
6) MS Dhoni
7) Zaheer Abbas
8) Ricky Ponting
9) Rohit Sharma
10) Brian Lara
11) Mark Waugh
12) Saeed Anwar
13) David Warner
14) Matthew Hayden
15) Adam Gilchrist
16) Mike Hussey
17) Kumar Sangakkara
18) Dean Jones
19) Hashim Amla
20) Shane Watson
21) Gordon Greenidge
22) Desmond Haynes
23) Javed Miandad
24) Inzamam ul-Haq
25) Greg Chappell
26) Babar Azam
27) Chris Gayle
28) Jos Buttler
29) Joe Root
30) Eoin Morgan
31) Johnny Bairstow
32) Graeme Smith
33) Herschelle Gibbs
34) Allan Lamb
35) Gary Kirsten
36) Faf du Plessis
37) Quinton de Kock
38) Shikhar Dhawan
39) Yuvraj Singh
40) Marcus Trescothick
41) Tillekeratne Dilshan
42) Mohammad Azharuddin
43) Ross Taylor
44) Virender Sehwag
45) Sanath Jayasuriya
46) Kevin Pietersen
47) Jason Roy
48) Aaron Finch
49) Damien Martyn
50) Michael Clarke
Three of them were not as consistent as Kallis… and Butler and Yuvi faced an inferior attack compared to Kallis (agreed on SR) + longevityDefinitely. I would say at most some of them are debatable as Kallis' SR was an issue; but Butler, Inzi and Yuvi aren't among those.
In ODI cricket SR is very important. Further the fact that Kallis still has a lower SR despite batting in a more batting friendly era. And you can’t selectively pick a latter part of Inzamam’s career and compare it with Kallis’s peak playing yearsInzamam has just 1.5 runs more on SRand thats far…
Average has more emphasis than SR and also … even if Inzamam’s performance (1996-2007) is compared with Kallis (1996-2007)
Inzamam averages 38 and Kallis averages 44 and yes 6, that is a comfortable difference
Buttler is a gazillion times better batter than Kallis. Even for poorer attacks, Buttler’s SR is 120. Kallis nearly 50 lessThree of them were not as consistent as Kallis… and Butler and Yuvi faced an inferior attack compared to Kallis (agreed on SR)
even Inzamam doesn’t seem to have anything to be said comfortably better than Kallis as almost the same SR (slightly Inzamam higher) but Kallis clearly averaging better
Don’t overrate Buttler these much… Then Afridi must also be comfortably better than Tendulkar with his Strike Rate.Buttler is a gazillion times better batter than Kallis. Even for poorer attacks, Buttler’s SR is 120. Kallis nearly 50 less
Difference? In ODI cricket SR is very important. Further the fact that Kallis still has a lower SR despite batting in a more batting friendly era. And you can’t selectively pick a latter part of Inzamam’s career and compare it with Kallis’s peak playing years
I dont know I just listed guys I could remember off the top of my head. I think I'd take even Aravinda over Kallis. Also, why isn't Sourav Ganguly, Kane Williamson and Martin Crowe there over the likes of Finch and Roy??
