That's a horrible take. Dravid was a good player of spin; Ponting wasn't. He had a good tour vs Murali, but that was pre Doosra; that doesn't makes him a good spin player. Dravid did pretty decent against Warne and was solid against Murali at home. I can't believe we have to debate that....I don't think Ponting had more problems against spin than Dravid, who struggled against both Murali and Warne. They were both comparable. Dravid better against swing sure, not against pace and bounce.
Dravid is highly overrated against spin. I don't see a big difference between them in this regard.I might actually take Ponting over Dravid against lateral movement from an ATG attack but Dravid was significantly better against spin
Nah . Dravid was marginally better than Ponting against spin . Both really struggled against high quality spin .That's a horrible take. Dravid was a good player of spin; Ponting wasn't. Ponting struggled in turning conditions against mid spinners as well.... And let's not debate this then as while has no Sehwag, Sachin or even Laxman; I believe Dravid to be more than decent against spin.Nah . Dravid was marginally better than Ponting against spin . Both really struggled against high quality spin .
Misleading. Dravid struggled against Murali away and also against Warne his entire career. I remember watching him at the time, he never seemed comfortable against Warne. That's a horrible take. Yes, precisely my point.Nah . Dravid was marginally better than Ponting against spin . Both really struggled against high quality spin .
Might be. But I find it difficult personally to put them in the same tier vs spin.Misleading. Dravid struggled against Murali away and also against Warne his entire career. I remember watching him at the time, he never seemed comfortable against Warne.
Mainly because Ponting's failures in India were more high profile. But Dravid was Warne's bunny frankly.Might be. But I find it difficult personally to put them in the same tier vs spin.
Interesting take. Dravid struggled against the best 2 spinners; but Ponting struggled against pretty much all spinners in turning tracks. And Dravid did have that 180 in Eden.Mainly because Ponting's failures in India were more high profile. But Dravid was Warne's bunny frankly.
Ponting didn't just struggle, he had phases where he couldn't last more than a dozen balls. It is not even close.Nah . Dravid was marginally better than Ponting against spin . Both really struggled against high quality spin .
Ponting didn’t struggle against Pakistani spinners . He was only marginally behind Dravid . Dravid was over rated vs spin .Interesting take. Dravid struggled against the best 2 spinners; but Ponting struggled against pretty much all spinners in turning tracks. And Dravid did have that 180 in Eden.
Only in IND . He could fight it out in SL and PAK .Ponting didn't just struggle, he had phases where he couldn't last more than a dozen balls. It is not even close.
Please watch the 2008 series in SL and see how Dravid did against Mendis. He had his phases too.Ponting didn't just struggle, he had phases where he couldn't last more than a dozen balls. It is not even close.
Stop being so biasedDravid passes the eye test against spin. Ponting doesn’t.
Dravid doesn't pass any eye test.Dravid passes the eye test against spin. Ponting doesn’t.
