Yeah , I also rate Ponting higher because of his aggressive batting but to say that this isn’t close is garbage.

Ponting’s overseas average is similar to Sehwag if you remove runs scored against pathetic WI side post Ambrose and Walsh retirement.View attachment 39611
Except Ponting has a good series in WI against Ambrose/Walsh too, so excluding WI and keeping Bangladesh and Zimbabwe who Dravid cashed in more on doesn't make sense.

Ponting to me has a better away record than Dravid when you look into their records.

Dravid played four series in SA, was only good in one. Played four series in Australia, was only good in one. Played four series in SL, was only good in one. These three countries were probably the toughest to tour in his time overall.

Ponting only really consistently struggled in India.

And you also ignored the fact that Dravid was arguably the best in England since Bradman; while Ponting there is just good... Removing Bangladesh and Zimbabwe; Dravid averages 47.2 away, Ponting does 41.25. Dravid also scored more than 1000 more runs in only 8 more matches.

He averaged 40 against Ambrose/Walsh iirc . Dravid averaged 55-60 against Ambrose/Walsh iirc . So I am not sure it helps your argument.

Dravids series in England in 2011 is better than any series Ponting had.

Ponting is better overall but it’s very close.

England wasn't the same consistent challenge as the other places, notwithstanding his 2011 epic.

Do you agree in excluding WI and keeping Bangladesh/Zimbabwe or no?

Dravid averages 4 runs more against WI.... Ponting himself wasn't really great in England also and cashed in heavily against mediocre attacks there; and his runs in SL could hardly be classified as dominating Murali. That doesn't writes off Dravid's poor performances in those places; and Ponting was genuinely great in SA; just putting perspective.
