Nah he got picked 3 for that Sydney Test against India in 18/19, basically because he was the only bloke who really looked like he wanted the opportunity iirc.wasnt he at 3 because he was ****ing awesome at Glamorgan?

Nah he played a few tests vs SL. He made a million runs for Glamorgan to make the ashes squad, impressed in the aus vs aus warm-up game and subbed in for Smith when he got concussed.wasnt he at 3 because he was ****ing awesome at Glamorgan?
wut no did you dream thatMarnus got picked as a #5/6 spin bowling allrounder for pakistan initially though, didn't he?
This reminds me that Kurtis Patterson has a Test average of 144 lolNah he played a few tests vs SL. He made a million runs for Glamorgan to make the ashes squad, impressed in the aus vs aus warm-up game and subbed in for Smith when he got concussed.
His decline will be studiedThis reminds me that Kurtis Patterson has a Test average of 144 lol
I mean it's a pretty straightforward case of a guy who should have been backed despite his lean patch, his confidence fell of a cliff and his entire game followed thereafter. Won't be the first to go like that; having the trust and belief of the higher ups can easily make or break a career. His decline will be studied
Had a great chat with him (from my perspective, I was about 8 beers deep, so maybe not from his). Definitely a good guy, I think getting the job came as a huge surprise to him so he's making the most of it!Shoutout to James Tito. Rover reporting stuff he did this series was top notch.
From what I have seen, his biggest problem has been converting startsYeah I'm of the same mind but tbf he's not in a dissimilar position to where Marnus was when he first got picked, basically on eye test.
Another moral victory for Englandwtf nz
Our brains trust is all Kiwi and always has been, so it's consistent.Another moral victory for England
Doesn’t it do the opposite? To say we just weren’t good enough absolves us of blame. To say we could have and should have done better but played like weak-willed idiots is, properly, blaming us.reducing this to just being mentally dominated absolves some of the blame that should be attributed to the NZ team imo
