Pope never had issues with handling pace

he was and still is **** against spin. past England teams would have stuck him at 5 or 6 and asked him to nurdle his way and play traditional test cricket that would have got him out soon once he was in his 30s and ate up a lot of deliveries

Stokes is the most interesting one. He used to look like a tailender vs ashwin but has played him more comfortably here than he ever has. Unfortunately it's just been replaced by him looking like a tailender vs Kuldeep instead.
