Nah, Bracewell would've made young KW open the batting.I think Bracewell would have gone alright if he had the talent that Stead has had at his disposal.

Bracewell as whiteball-only coach is something I wouldn’t have been averse to. The likes of Cairns and Astle were pretty upset at having a fire lit under them and I didn’t support it at the time, but we’d be better off today if the likes of Southee, Sodhi, Latham etc. received that sort of treatment.John Bracewell taking over from Hesson could have pushed them to a new level or destabilized the team.
He wouldn't have died wondering. As much as we meme on his Kyle Mills #3, he modernized the white ball side. Rotation policy copped a lot of flak but it's standard now and even regressed under Stead, who relied on Boult/Southee in all3 formats a bit much. KW as well.
That 'rotation' of older players was something the High Performance Manager at the time Ric Charlesworth really pushed too. Just looking him up again I saw this 2021 interview with ex-Canterbury coach Dave Nosworthy who attributes some of NZ's recent success to work Charlesworth did.Bracewell as whiteball-only coach is something I wouldn’t have been averse to. No game balls for youOh joy, taking the nephews to this almost certainly rained off game
Yeah...I have professed that I'm not a big fan of Sears but I was very impressed on Friday. He bowled smart, he bowled with variation, with some pace, made them hit into the right areas, and was fired up. I really liked it.That's a shame, would probably have been another bumper crowd too. Was at a quiz last night at our club and someone mentioned how even though we got thrashed on Friday it was so good to see the Black Caps with 3 guys bowling over 140 kph. That seemed like a bit of a breakthrough performance for Sears too.
I'll find a wayNo game balls for you
He bowled very intelligently in the Pakistan t20 series as well. A lot of inexperienced fast bowlers go balls to the wall with their pace, and because they don't have the control needed get absolutely smashed (see young Milne and Locky). Sears has made very effective use of slower balls and cross seamers while keeping his stock ball in the low-mid 140 range where he has the control to maintain a challenging line and length.Yeah...I have professed that I'm not a big fan of Sears but I was very impressed on Friday. Savant?I'm a weather servant, I tend to feel the moisture through my body...although I'm 2 hours away from Auckland, I think we'll get a game in today and 15+ overs.
Of course, like any psychic, this is completely based on nothing and could be horribly wrong, at which time I will disappear and pretend I never said a thing
Haha ****, yeah that one.Savant?
