I feel like this whole series has been people underrating the value of a good-ish to very good total in the first innings as subsequent efforts then fail to match it.

England really have to take this one now, there's no way they'll get a better shot at what is looking like a pretty average India lineup away from home. Still that last partnership has kept India in the game.

The doubt is presumably over which innings the pitch decides to become a minefield in, since it sounds like it's already on the cusp of getting there. If England cop it hard in the 3rd, India could be chasing 150 or something. At that point the pitch difficulties can find themselves vanishing as the bowling side have to throw hail marys to defend the target.

Almost certainly the longest in minutes, since back in them days mr rhodes'd bowl 10 overs before you'd have yer flat cap off. Five apples fer a ha'pny y'know.
