Due to playing at a similar time to the Fab Four (and having a longer FC career than any of them) it makes it easier to directly compare them.

Potentially as good as Imran with the ball - likely would’ve been top 10 all time. Better than Botham with the bat (at worst equal). imo at least.

I can try but it was pretty much discussed in this very forum.. You can search for my posts with the words Procter to find it. Plus all the links right now are about his unfortunate passing.

I am honestly not comfortable discussing this now when he has passed away. We can bring it up another time. Pretty silly of Burgey to bring this up in the first place anyways.

Alongside Pollock and Barry Richards, Procter was definitely the biggest lose of Test cricket due to apartheid.

They had an ATG team that missed out. Surely would have been regarded as highly as West Indies and Australian great sides were/are.

I was lucky enough to see him bowl - he was a genuinely great bowler and a more than useful middle order batsman.

I remember watching the semi final against Hampshire - I was gutted at time as I loved Barry Richards.

Proctor would have been an ATG at test level and would have excelled in the modern white ball game as well.
