And for those that are interested, Steve Smith has played (still playing) 107 Test matches and scored 100+ runs in a match on 35 occasions. That means he scores 100+ runs every 3.05 Test matches. If we stretch it to 150+ scores only, Smith has done this 19 times, meaning he scores 150+ runs in a Test match every 5.6 matches.

What about 200+ runs scored in a Test match?

Tendulkar: 10 times, every 20 matches.

Lara: 15 times, every 8.7 Test matches.

Smith: 10 times, every 10.7 Test matches

For a bit of fun:

Bradman played 52 Test matches and scored 100+ runs in a Test match 32 times. So he scored 100+ runs in a Test match every 1.6 matches (phenomenonal).

In terms of 150+ runs in a Test match, he achieved this 22 times, so he scored 150+ runs every 2.3 matches (awesome)

What about 200+ runs in a Test match, well he did this 14 times, so he scored 200+ runs every 3.7 Test matches (fantastic).

Subz always tries to frame it like Lara is irrefutably inferior to Tendulkar, like the red headed step child.

Again, if we were to stretch things and look at 150+ runs scored in a Test match, Lara achieved this 25 times, so he averaged scoring 150+ runs every 5.2 Test matches.

My opinion, this is another stat that reflects that there isn't very much between Tendulkar and Lara. Both all time greats.

This is probably skewed by Sachin playing an insane number of tests though? Would love to see what it’s like at about 130 tests for Sachin.

I think that probably won't go to good as well as he debuted as a 16 year old..... I think somewhere from his 30th Test to his 160th would be an interesting comparison.

If we go to 131 Tests (which is what Lara played in career), Sachin scored 100+ runs in a Test match 42 times. Meaning he scored 100+ runs in a Test match every 3.1 Test matches.

For 150+ runs in a Test match, from the 131 matches, Tendulkar achieved this 21 times, so he scored 150+ runs in a Test match every 6.2 matches.

200+ runs in a Test match - Tendulkar achieved this 8 times so he scored 200+ runs in a Test match every 16.3 matches.

Yeah, I believe Sachin is ahead but not by much.

But Lara was a genius and for me always the best batsman I've ever seen.
