*Official* 2024 South Africa tour of New Zealand: 2 tests

This seems like one of those annoying decks where if you block after the new ball, life is easy but if you force the pace it's really tricky. Not a fan of those stalemate pitches.

I've only seen the last session each day tho. Radio for the rest.

State Captain
I like the cut of O'Rourke's jib.
He, Henry and Jamieson seems like a good attack to me.

As much as I'd love to see NZ win this easily, this pitch has made for a fascinating test.
So Southee is the new CDG then - but can’t bat

Whatever it takes!!!
NZ and Eng seem to be two places where the scores go up in the 2nd innings compared to the first, understandably as it probably gets less swingy and seamy as the match goes on. NZ should really fancy a simple chase here against a very depleted attack.

This would usually be the case, but both the pitches this series have taken a lot more turn than your usual NZ pitch.

That late wicket of Conway spoiled what had been a great session.

We're still in a pretty good position overall though, better than it looked like being earlier in the day.

Aw no, why. Last over sneaks just in time, Conway suddenly looks all-sorts against the ball sliding on, Piedt then gets one to turn while Conway is covering the line. Really anguishing way to end what was a promising innings. All he needs is a 50.

Mitchell would be handy here as he would smash Piedt over his head. May need to promote Wagner as Dane’s a threat here if you are not doing anything. Bowled three half volleys to start their spell and none were put away.
Captain needs to bowl tomorrow as well. It was only O’Rourke that made von Berg look serviceable.

BeeGee

International Captain
It's almost like Olivier in the first test where they just totally gave up on him and he only got four overs in the second innings.

Except Southee is captain, so I'd have expected him to keep bowling himself!
He's really leaning into his role as specialist captain. Living the dream.
