*Official* 2024 South Africa tour of New Zealand: 2 tests

straw man

If anything I think this tour has ended Petersen's Test career for now and definitely Fortuin's. Although the argument could be that the latter should never have been playing anyway.
He was seen as a big loss last NZ tour when he couldn't travel due to COVID - it's a big fall from grace since then. Got stuck both innings last test and then slogged out. He still looks like he *should* be able to make runs - is he a rare test player who could use some of the extra skills from white-ball e.g. strike rotation? I'm assuming he doesn't make a domestic T20 side for a good reason.

Also don't understand why he's down at 6 - occupying the crease with a low SR is at least worth something if you're in the top 3 or 4.

In nz I'm on the fence about our best team because we only saw Santner once, and he was a bit unlucky.

He actually did the job we wanted in the past - keep it tight. However, if that's all he is now without being able to bat 7, not sure I want him in a 4 man attack. It would be different if we had lord Colin.

I think I prefer 4 RIGHT ARM OUTSWING bowlers and Ravindra/Phillips/Mitchell sharing golden arm duties.

Vikash Singh: "It would be greatly appreciated if ESPNCRICINFO could display the local time on the commentary page. I am following this game from the UAE, and it is confusing when the commentary mentions that the game could be extended until 6:30 local time, as I have no reference for the local time"
Yet another reminder why I need to use Cricbuzz or whatever Pakpassion endorses

If they did have the guts to do that, Latham should also be dropped for his own poor form.
That might be a actually be a reasonable argument based on its own merits, although I'd probably still retain Latham assuming Ravindra is batting at 4 since Young has hardly smashed the door down in his limited opportunities, but either way Southee has to go if we're genuinely wanting to compete against Aust. This car crash was always going to happen when they stupidly named Timmy S (Selfish) as Test skipper. What's worse of all is that his 126km nothingness denies someone else the new-ball.
