Fantastic knocks against West Indian fast bowlers of the 80's

Which knocks were the best against arguably the greatest production line of fast bowlers World Cricket has ever seen ?

Idk about knocks but series wise, it'll be Armanath in 1983 and Border in 1984 for me.

Yeah 3 centuries but 'only' averaged 42. How???!!
Scores of 15, 13, 23, 3, 9, 12 and 1 would do it. He was crazy inconsistent. 43/129 dismissals across his career were for 9 or less, and a further 25 between 10 and 19. He also never converted any of his hundreds into daddy hundreds so these two things explain his mid 30s overall average.

5th test vs West Indies Feb 1989. I was at the Adelaide Oval that day to witness the best innings I've ever seen (Dean Jones vs Marshall, Ambrose, Walsh and Patterson)

Dean Jones 216 (run out)

And at the other end Merv Hughes 72*

Not Terrible
Jeff Crowe wasn't anywhere near the batsman that Martin was but he had a few decent knocks against the West Indies.

I think Slater got 3 and averaged even less in 98/99 ashes

Combination of low scores in between tons, no not outs, and none of the tons being daddy tons. I'm sure that all applies to Lamb who never got a test 150

As far as test series go, Amarnath had two exceptional ones in the 80s, Pakistan in 1982 and West Indies in 1983. He was such a elite player of fast bowling in his prime...

Border 98* and 100* in the second test of the Aus tour to WI in 84.

Courtesy Cricinfo:

In a game where the next highest score by an Australian batsman was 48, Border finished with a match aggregate of 198 not out. While the other Australians were dismissed every 35 deliveries, Border faced 583 without being dismissed once. In the 25-year period from 1976 to 2000, when West Indies won 20 out of 23 home series, no overseas batsman faced more deliveries in a Test match in the Caribbean

Walsh, Ambrose, and Bishop qualify for this?
There are two innings from Sanath Jayasuriya in 1997, 85 and a 90, where he carted Ambrose, Walsh and Bishop around, only to get bogged down and dismissed by Hooper, who had a field performance with the ball in the whole series.
