*Official* 2024 South Africa tour of New Zealand: 2 tests

'The Black Caps may be missing two key batters for this month’s three-match T20 series against Australia.

After Daryl Mitchell was ruled out of those games in Wellington and Auckland, coach Gary Stead confirmed Kane Williamson was in doubt as he awaited the birth of he and wife Sarah’s third child.'
This only adds to Kane's legacy that he scores the weight of runs and has the energy left at home.

Been a long time since I have been on this site but I know you blokes will know - what will Seddon Park play like? Seam? Bounce? Come on to he bat ? Good batting track? Takes spin late in the test?? What is the pitch expected to do?

Having a go at an NZ side if in the same situation as SA, allowing for Black Caps taking the T20 obv and 4 overseas players per match (so I'll assume the 4 weakest players drop from the domestic squads - sorry Henry Cooper). A bit of guesswork based on who didn't feature.

Greg Hay (c)
Rhys Mariu (where has he been? looks the most promising red ball opener around)
Henry Cooper
Bharat Popli
Thorn Parkes
Muhammad Abbas
Bayley Wiggins (wk)
Brett Randell
Neil Wagner
Adithya Ashok
Matthew Fisher

Making this drove home just how much domestic T20 depth of Super Smash serviceability we have. There's a pack of very young kids who would be punted for the overseas guys but from there it's tricky to determine who regularly makes the weekend 13-15. I'll concede Abbas played but let's be real we saw him trying to bosh - he's too skinny atm. Wellington would have played a mercenary allrounder over him. Likewise Fisher isn't getting games over Southee, Boult, Kuggs, Clarke and whatever mercenary bowlers they bring in.

Schmulian, Mitch Hay (Latham would keep for Mumbai Indians Christchurch) make this side quite a bit stronger.

South African "under strength" (bbc) side could not hold kiwis at Bay (Oval).......

and re 100 in each innings, not too surprising, if there were a Test vs South Africa to do it in would be this bunch

have to wonder why on earth they didn't declare earlier, that side didn't look capable of scoring 329 let along chasing 529 batting last!

The way Bedingham was going, 329 would have been chased and it would have been egg in the face for nz then.

Hehehe. Matt "4-fer vs India A at Chinnaswamy" Fisher.

From memory, Mariu has been injured for the bulk of the season.
