What is your ALL TIME WORLD XI TEAM for tests?

Ashes.

Best top 6, Gilchrist, Warne, probably best fielding? RoW has the best pace attack but not enough to make up the difference.

Its basically take the best Country’s All Time XI and fixing the one area they’re lacking (openers - though technically only to England and India really). SC would beat RoW in Asia but RoW is pretty much guaranteed to beat them outside Asia.
Don't think it's that clear cut, with regards to the ashes team. Might be the weakest of the attacks (all relative), and the least bowling depth. SC would stand a good chance vs both teams in Asia.

How I do imagine it though is a 5 test series around the world

Lords - MCG / GABBA - Kensington - Cape Town - Hyderabad 🤷🏽‍♂️

Make it a 6 match series and add 1 to the SC

Galle or Karachi? Might even do Sharjah. I suggested it as the other teams have 2 home games while Asia has only 1. Also, definitely not Hyderabad for India. It has to be either Eden Gardens or preferably Brabourne (as Kolkata pitches are mostly flat, while ball turns in Mumbai).

Its definitely clear cut. The Ashes team easily has the strongest overall quality. The only place where they’re not on top is pace bowling.

It's batting and bowling. The ROW is better at pace bowling and possibly bowling overall. That's not clearly ahead.

Fielding is a tie between those two.

Playing in the SC (in this scenario 2 of 6 games), that team has an advantage over both of the others, especially at Galle.

Think all three teams have a shot in such a scenario.

Lords is also somewhat flat 🤷🏽‍♂️

Yeah nah, Warne over Tayfield is a massive swing which puts them close to par, and still clearly ahead in batting.

No no, I am not asking to include 2 SC venues for a varied types of wickets, but so that each team gets equal home games. My second post on why Hyderabad is a bad choice for India has nothing to do with it

In the scenario of Hadlee vs McGrath, who gets the new ball?

Mcgrath. Hadlee a bit more versatile and a Mcgrath deadly with the new ball.

The two teams are pretty evenly matched but for Bradman and to some extent Gilly. After that, pretty much everyone is interchangeable.

Some always says this, but that's in some way a disservice to some of the players who consistently make these teams. Just my opinion.
