The selectors have learned from Nicholls that a double century shouldn't guarantee you a long run, so if he fails in the next test he'll be gone.

Might not seem the most meaningful test double century but if nothing else, should make Rachin feel comfortable at test level. His earlier test matches were some of the toughest assignments you could get - India in India. Batting out of position too. So he's not undeserving of an easier match.
