Chappell was a piece of ****... Don't want him to take any decision and make a sound win into cricket's most controversial momentKinda surprised at Flower as captain. Flower as captain is 10000x more reasonable than Flower as keeperKinda surprised at Flower as captain. Sure he captained his country, but he was never a reliable choice with that. Given the XI I’d definitely have Chappell captaining. (especially with Lillee in there)
He did kept wickets in all but 8 of his 63 matches..... So clearly, keeping wickets doesn't affects his batting too much, and I don't think he was a horrible keeper; sub average, sure but definitely not 'that bad'Flower as captain is 10000x more reasonable than Flower as keeper
horrible choice

Lots of tough choices here. Simpson and Lawry considered for opening. Chappell and Waugh in the middle order. Lillee's m.o. post back injury wasn't that different to Hadlee's so i decided on Donald.

Hammond vs Headley was close. Went with the former due to his better record against Australia. Small sample size for Headley but meh. Picked Holding over Garner because i think Holding offers something very different whereas Garner overlaps quite a bit with Ambrose. Verity vs Laker is a debate that will run and I was deciding what to do with Barnes and ended up not picking him as I didn't know who of Verity and Holding to ditch. Richards is captain over Hutton and Sobers due to having captained three of the bowlers during his career.
Which is the best team?
You have Bumrah ahead of Waqar already? Also please don’t write Younis as Khan - its just confusing. I’d also personally go with Flower > Cameron or even AB if you don’t trust Flower’s keeping enough.SC

Think this one is far more balanced and much more open competition?
Agreed, oversight and correctedYou have Bumrah ahead of Waqar already? Also please don’t write Younis as Khan - its just confusing. I’d also personally go with Flower > Cameron or even AB if you don’t trust Flower’s keeping enough.
And a wasted batting spot for a hit or miss proposition. If you have Wasim, Imran, Bumrah and Murali as bowlers, I would replace Ashwin with Akthar, and use him in 4 over bursts. If he clicks he will demolish any batting line up. If he doesn't, there is four other bowlers who are damn steady and can bowl long spells.
As in better? Yes, I think so?You have Bumrah ahead of Waqar already? Also please don’t write Younis as Khan - its just confusing. I’d also personally go with Flower > Cameron or even AB if you don’t trust Flower’s keeping enough.
I am not sure how your rating Waqar below Bumrah. He is slightly ahead of Dev, Vaas and Khan imo. And there is minimum of 160 wickets between then, taking that Bumrah only crossed 140 wickets now that is a large number. To get to Waqar he still need 230 wickets at the same Sr that's an incredible career. As in better? Yes, I think so?
Not greater, but better.
I was clear to say that I don't think he's greater, just think he brings something different to the table.I am not sure how your rating Waqar below Bumrah.
