How good was Ian Redpath?

howitzer

State Captain
Pretty good once he became an opener but relatively low longevity in that phase of his career. I kind of see him as a 40 years earlier version of Katich and rate them about equal as bats.

Perhaps Redpath slightly higher but i'd still have him some way behind the Mark Taylors of this world.

King Kane

International Regular
Ian Chappell rated him highly, only slightly below Keith Stackpole, Dougie Walters and Rod Marsh.

Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
3 tons and 2 fifties in the 75/76 series against Windies, who had Roberts and Holding albeit both just starting out

Qlder

International Debutant
Redpath retired on top as well, hit 2 hundreds in his last 2 Tests. Not sure who else has done that?
