Reports of Anderson's demise too premature? Maybe the Ashes was just a poor series. Every player is allowed them now and then.

Bharat's really useless isn't he
Ye he is. Sucks at batting which everyone knows including the team management yet gets picked for his so called keeping skills and it turns out he sucks at that too. So yes a complete garbage!

Once you're above the age of 35, it can go at any point reallh. Can't blame anyone for suspecting he might be done after a bad series when he's older than 40. But bowled very well in this test.

Oof that first ball was good by Ashwin, drift out then spin in. Pope had good reason to look moronic there

Did Rohit forget who was on strike setting that sweeping field to a guy on 9 off 24

Mix of good balls but very inconsistent in between. Unable to keep the balls in the right area consistently for long periods!

Horror show from Pope so far. You can have a look without betraying Stokes and McCullum.
In his last 6 balls he's hit 3 to fielders and missed a reverse sweep. Doesn't exactly look in great touch right now (weird thing to say given his last innings, but I mean literally now) but give him a break

I do wonder if sometimes it just seems like that because players above 35 are written off after a couple of bad series, when if they were 25 instead it'd just be a 'rough trot' - especially with batsmen where the decline is less visually evident.

But we did get a big long test of that theory with Ponting.

Outside of Jack Leech, are England missing any players through injury that would likely be playing in this match?
Harry brook is out for personal reasons, but if brook is in then foakes misses out and bairstow keeps, which could arguably be worse for England. Like I doubt bairstow takes that iyer catch yesterday.
