*Official* England in India 2023/24 #CryMoreTour

India deserve to lose for picking a turnip like Bharat, he's so bad.

Oh and his supposed amazing keeping, he's nothing special.

Saha was an average bat but amazing glovesman, this Bharat guy is the absolute worst.

What actually has Kishan done to merit his dropping? Murder someone?

India without Jadeja and with so many supposed proper batsman struggling can't afford to carry a wicket keeper with such a low ceiling.

BANG. AVERAGE.

A pretty even day all in all.

Good toss for India to win and their batting was all about one man - Jaiswal - he looks some player.

I thought we bowled well.enough, apart from Root. Our 3 young spinners did well and Bashir for someone so inexperienced coped with everything very well.

The pitch didn't do much and too many Indian batsmen got in only to give it away.

When we bat, if we can go big, we can out pressure on India in the 3rd innings of the match.

Totally agreed. Kishan should have been playing here. Much much better bat and equals in keeping.

didnt Kishan ask for a break from cricket?
Yes. He also gave the reason as frustration from him always being in and out of the side irrespective of performance. He was backup to Pant, then backup to Bharat, backup to KLRahul and then back as backup to Bharat.. That's frustrating tbf.

He did keep in the WI series tbf which was their last series. I assumed India had finally realized carrying an average glovesman who can't bat wasn't the best long term plan, but I suppose Ishy just wanted a break from all cricket.

Bharat if he fails the next innings can be replaced by Jurel, he's got enough opportunities especially as he has played so much at home and done SFA.

I think it's fair to say this was India's day.

I'd be happy if we get them all out tomorrow for under 400.

I guess India may be the one who is going to be the #crymore.

great innings with some shots by the rest. India need to get to 400, if not 450. India can’t get into a shootout second innings with England given how well they are doing.

There's really no future to Gill if he can get played like that even in Indian conditions (with due credit to how well Anderson bowled). He'd do well with some time playing in England FC if they still have such a thing but I doubt any county would have him.

Jaiswal looks great. I think he'll go ok abroad at least in Aus because he's bottom-hand dominant and a natural hooker. The rest are just rank though; Gill, Iyer, Bharat, even Axar should be on notice if he doesn't bowl us to a win here.

I think it's pretty even. If India had the ability to call on Kohli,Rahul,Pant and Jadeja. We'd be well behind the game, as they'd not be 6 down.

Next partnership is key to the match.
Finally a nice sane message in the thread. Agreed on the above. Jaiswal-Ashwin partnership quite crucial for India's chances this test.

He did well in that WI series too. But then the mgt decided to award the gloves to KL for the SA test series which came next and iirc that is the time Kishan decided to take the break.

Yeah can't blame Ishy for that, India were never in danger when he batted so somewhat soft runs but nonetheless he scored them so is right to feel aggrieved IMO.

One other note for India, easy to slag of Bharat /Iyer/ Gill,,,but the biggest let down was Rohit who is an absolute beast on these type of pitches.

Utterly bizarre that someone so good decided to play such a tepid innings.

Whatever it takes!!!
I think its England's day. 60-40 perhaps but still England's day. 400 is just about par here and we have a battle to get there tomorrow. If Axar stayed till stumps, I would have said 60-40 India. If Pattidar had learned to defend the ****ing ball forward rather than back, we would have been well in front. If Bharat did not think copying Axar's shot was a good idea, I would have called it an even day. But England are already into the tail now and even 350 is far away. England well in front IMO.

Yeah the two late wickets really swung it Englands way. 330/4 was a pretty comfortable total.

Without Anderson I think England would've been in a bit more trouble today. Was seriously outstanding and 30-1 doesn't do it justice. Apart from him and Jaiswal, I really don't think we saw very high quality test cricket today.

Rehan was pretty decent, Bashir was ok for someone with his record and on debut. Some of the batsmen looked good before they fell. Overall kinda meh.

Eng spinners rating today: Rehan 8/10 honestly best i've seen him bowl. Decent control and getting some serious revs. Very encouraging.

Bashir 7 Not much turn or variation but was very accurate and his bounce is useful. Impressed.

Hartley 5 similar to Bashir but bowled a higher percentage of 4 balls. Too many random longhops and full tosses from a finger spinner. Did cause problems at times.

Root 3 the batters played him easily, plus he bowled a lot of rank stuff while looking innocuous. Looked a lot more part timer than all rounder.
