Bharat's keeping is so shoddy.
I don't think any current gen keeper-bat will be able to match Saha or Dhoni's glovework. Pant will probably look shaky initially when he returns too.

This passage of play is where this team loses so many matches. They just let the game drift waiting for some piece of magic from someone to break it open. This is where the Kohli/Shastri leadership was much better.

hahahaha like how do you let Pope score a ton against you hahaha

I knew this would happen as soon as he hit 30. Are Jadeja and Ashwin just washed up? Morons

Pope now averages 48 after 16 Tests at #3. That's not a tiny sample size.

He's flawed but we should probably stop talking about dropping him for a while given how bad everyone England has tried since Trott has been there, and how much Root seems to dislike the position.
He is flawed in the same way Duckett is flawed as an opener but it works for him so why do we complain? They are the main reasons we have improved as it means Root isn't in at 30-2 every innings.

And there's that random bit of magic to break the partnership. Tho in that case it was just the pitch playing tricks.

To be real, had Bharat's batting being anything close to Pant, people wouldn't bitch so much. But the bloke is playing in place of much better batsmen (yes, even Kishan); then he should offer some quality keeping.
