Moooo
Amazing how fast he gave that decision. It’s a poor decision.
What kind of angle would you have wanted...?Needed another angle on that
It's weird that Hawkeye has that umpires call option and this has no equivalentNothing on Hotspot, and the smallest of murmurs on Snicko. Questionable.
the ball hit the bat and it was caught . . . what other decision was he supposed to makeThat’s a ****ing poor decision from the 3rd umpire
Did they show the angle from the off side?Nothing on Hotspot means absolutely nothing. It's long established protocol that literally anything on Snicko at the right time = out, and rightly so
Not convincedthe ball hit the bat and it was caught . . . what other decision was he supposed to make
Uh, there was a mark on hotspot, and a noise on snicko. There's no doubt hereIt's weird that Hawkeye has that umpires call option and this has no equivalent
How would that have helped?Did they show the angle from the off side?
It was faint but I saw a small mark on HotSpot.Nothing on Hotspot, and the smallest of murmurs on Snicko. Questionable.
Because Hawkeye is a prediction of something that might have happened rather than a determination of what actually happenedIt's weird that Hawkeye has that umpires call option and this has no equivalent
It gives us a view of when the ball passes the bat and when snicko. Spiked up. SimpleHow would that have helped?
This is ridiculous. It's very plainly out under the long established protocols.Amazing how fast he gave that decision. It’s a poor decision.
It's not only that, but I think that Smith spills them regularly enough that he's not quite in the top flight. In fairness I've never known a cricketer, even the great ones, who don't shell them in the slips every now and then. I think even Mark Waugh dropped a few.
But... we got that? What else do you think the ball would have hit?It gives us a view of when the ball passes the bat and when snicko. Spiked up. Simple
There was a faint, but clear, mark on hotspot that appeared on the edge exactly as the ball passed, at the right spot and wasn't there beforeNothing on Hotspot means absolutely nothing. It's long established protocol that literally anything on Snicko at the right time = out, and rightly so
Yeah I agree, though it's usually to Lyon standing close that he has more problems because of his IMO odd technique (what else is new for Smith)It's not only that, but I think that Smith spills them regularly enough that he's not quite in the top flight.
Maybe Tage let one rip at the same time. The mic is closest to his a$s, no?But... we got that? What else do you think the ball would have hit?
Yeah I'm nonplussed by this debate. It's as regulation a decision as they come, with bat and ball both away from body so there's no ambiguity over what the ball or bat could have hit. There was a faint, but clear, mark on hotspot that appeared on the edge exactly as the ball passed, at the right spot and wasn't there before
