*Official* Pakistan in New Zealand

King Kane

International Regular
Another good fifty for Phillips.

MItchell is starting to get going now., helped by a dropped catch.

Pakistan shooting themselves in the foot with their fielding again.

Williamson plays this knock in every circumstance, which is the problem.
He has got better at accelerating in T20s but the problem now is that when he accelerates he does a hamstring.

International Captain
A slow start from Mitchell, if Williamson started this slowly people would be bagging him and saying that he shouldn't be playing T20s.

It's the right sort of knock in the circumstances though.
Not principally opposed to KW in T20 internationals, you need someone to deal with quality bowling from time to time. But seems such a waste given his fitness issues.

Frankly, this (Mitchell's) is the sort of knock you would expect from Young coming into the side, would have done the job well enough. This chase is sort of a perfect summary of why Phillips and Mitchell have managed to earn first choice XI spots despite NZ selection policy, while Young hasn't.

Starting slowly when you've lost 3 wickets in the powerplay is fine. The issue with Kane is he often does it when we're 1 down.

Woeful again. Iftikhar needs to go. Nawaz should be forced to watch Santa bowl on loop for 48 hours. Slow it down ****. Mitchell is gun.

Made perfect sense cause NZ know conditions in NZ better than Pakistan do
It worked out well in the end thanks to great knocks from Phillips and Mitchell but it wasn't looking too sensible at 20/3.

They both had some luck too with some typical shoddy Pakistan fielding.

Feels like Mitchell is making runs despite not hitting it near his best at the moment, which is a great credit to him.

And I really, really hope there's a place in the Test side for GP. MoM last time out so you'd think so....but he's just one of those guys who we base the side around for the next 10 years. He's a special player

He generally fits with the general structural plan at home to play four specialist quicks and have a batting allrounder send down some spin if necessary so I reckon he'll get a consistent shot now.

With gun Santner, however, I wouldn't put it past Stead and I almost wouldn't be angry if Mitch were picked.

But I would be very angry, however, because Rachin, even though he logically doesn't warrant a spot at this point.

Not Terrible
I do want to see Test match Santa but Ill definitely settle for him doing more FC games before that happens. Do love Phillips and his bowling has been a lot better.

On our tours of Afghanistan (hahahahahahaha), SL, and India in September–November this year I hope we fully meme and play 4 spinny all-rounders btw.

Rachin
Conway
Kane
Mitchell
Latham
Blundell +
Phillips
Santner
Macewell
Jamieson/Henry
Southee

It's not even that far-fetched IMO. The revenge of the finger-spinners.

Having Rachin in the top 4 and Phillips at 7 (or 6 with Blundell at 7) would fill out that balance even more because you'd have two very different part-time spinners to choose from depending on match ups with the batsmen, who's having a better day etc.

Feels like we're kind of just waiting for Nicholls to fail enough times after his double.
