He has got better at accelerating in T20s but the problem now is that when he accelerates he does a hamstring.Williamson plays this knock in every circumstance, which is the problem.
Not principally opposed to KW in T20 internationals, you need someone to deal with quality bowling from time to time. But seems such a waste given his fitness issues.A slow start from Mitchell, if Williamson started this slowly people would be bagging him and saying that he shouldn't be playing T20s.
It's the right sort of knock in the circumstances though.
Starting slowly when you've lost 3 wickets in the powerplay is fine. The issue with Kane is he often does it when we're 1 down.A slow start from Mitchell, if Williamson started this slowly people would be bagging him and saying that he shouldn't be playing T20s.
It's the right sort of knock in the circumstances though.
Made perfect sense cause NZ know conditions in NZ better than Pakistan doSo we finally won the toss and chose to bowl first, makes sense when that worked so well for Pakistan choosing to bowl first in the first 3 games.
It worked out well in the end thanks to great knocks from Phillips and Mitchell but it wasn't looking too sensible at 20/3.Made perfect sense cause NZ know conditions in NZ better than Pakistan do

He generally fits with the general structural plan at home to play four specialist quicks and have a batting allrounder send down some spin if necessary so I reckon he'll get a consistent shot now.Feels like Mitchell is making runs despite not hitting it near his best at the moment, which is a great credit to him.
And I really, really hope there's a place in the Test side for GP. MoM last time out so you'd think so....but he's just one of those guys who we base the side around for the next 10 years. He's a special player
With gun Santner, however, I wouldn't put it past Stead and I almost wouldn't be angry if Mitch were picked. He generally fits with the general structural plan at home to play four specialist quicks and have a batting allrounder send down some spin if necessary so I reckon he'll get a consistent shot now.
Having Rachin in the top 4 and Phillips at 7 (or 6 with Blundell at 7) would fill out that balance even more because you'd have two very different part-time spinners to choose from depending on match ups with the batsmen, who's having a better day etc. With gun Santner, however, I wouldn't put it past Stead and I almost wouldn't be angry if Mitch were picked.
But I would be very angry, however, because Rachin, even though he logically doesn't warrant a spot at this point.
