KP averaged 47 and Ponting averaged 51 in a similar era, but I expect them to have a similar average in the bowler-friendly era because Ponting would have had a far bigger drop-off in a tough era. KP won't have that because, for what it's worth, KP was simply a "better batsman" than Ponting.

Looks like CWers just can't cope with the truth. Pietersen is better because every time he scored runs it was a lone effort (incidentally because no one would want to bat with him for very long). On the other hand, Ponting was just a hackfraud like Border – not someone who actually would win matches.
