JOJOXI

International Captain
Being the only drafter not to pick a player for November I am going to make my final pick early - Manny Martindale (November)

JOJOXI

International Captain
Virender Sehwag
Alastair Cook
Rahul Dravid
Brian Lara
Frank Worrell (5)
Steve Waugh (c) (6)
BJ Watling (wk)
Shane Warne (4)
Craig McDermott (3)
Manny Martindale (2)
Jack Cowie (1)

Ideally would've wanted a stronger pace attack albeit it was also a somewhat deliberate ploy to try and build a strong batting line-up with the thought process that ATG batters may outperform good batters more than ATG bowlers outperforming good bowlers. Very happy with the rest of the side - solidity provided by Cook and Dravid. A good leader in Steve Waugh and a capable keeper as well as a batsman who is well-known for making runs when the circumstances are against him in BJ Watling. Sehwag, Lara will provide fireworks and believe Worrell could provide a handy 2nd spin option as well as adding to a very strong batting line-up.

1) Graeme Smith (C)
2) Shane Watson
3) Hashim Amla
4) Basil Butcher
5) Mohammad Yousuf
6) Jonty Rhodes
7) Andrew Flintoff
8) Ian Healy (WK)
9) Chaminda Vaas
10) Waqar Younis
11) Courtney Walsh

More of a traditional team than the hyper versatile teams I normally end up creating. Still have great ballance and covers all basis. Very happy with the team and should challenge any opponent with the bat or the ball.

Thank you JOJOXI for an incredibly well ran draft, was challenging with the large number of drafters however fun as always. Hope everyone had fun.

Dont think there is a spinner there in your line up my friend.

Dont think there is a spinner there in your line up my friend.
There are 2 that can cover that if needed however not Frontline spinners however with Waqar and Vaas the older ball and Asian spinning conditions is fully covered on top of the fact that my bowling quadrant prefers bowling long spells and will be able to take 10 wickets in an inning more often than not within a day. Thus the only challenge is being able to play against spin and my batting lineup covers that incredibly well and bats very very deep.

I will go with Herath as my last pick. I thought I needed a bit of support more in the bowling department as Bond could break down in middle of the match. Also Herath perfect balance to Kumble and no mug with the bat. I had to switch Kanhai’s batting position to 4 than his preferred 3 because he was too good to be not picked at that stage and I could not let him go. Its not that he did not bat at 4 but did there quite well. I picked the team keeping in mind more of my favourites than anything.

1. Barry Richards
2. Archie Jackson
3. George Headley
4. Rohan Kanhai
5. Clive Lloyd
6. Alec Stewart +
7. Keith Miller
8. Anil Kumble
9. Rangana Herath
10. Andy Roberts
11. Shane Bond
