They drew one in 09 as well

They were pretty good in that series actually. Could have even won had few things gone their way

Yeah Gayle was great in that series. Player of the series. Should have won the perth test and drew the series 1-1.

Was that the game where Clint McKay played? Christ there were some dogshit attacks being thrown out in that brief era of Australian cricket.

That was the summer we were making 450-500+ most games but it took until the 5th ot 6th Test or the summer for an Australian batsman to make a century. A **** load of 90s. And when 1 finally did ton up (Watson at Melbourne IIRC) he got there by being dropped on 99 and running the single

I actually think the batting order has been deliberately reshuffled to block Bancroft.

Smith should stay at number 4. Bancroft should be playing.
We have Kim Hughes on board

Just out of interest, why should the selectors block Bancroft?

So many casuals on social media actually think this it's incredibly entertaining
Haha yeah bloke's like averaging 20 something in over 10 tests. Also it's worth pointing out that he was first selected in the Aust team to replace the incumbent (Renshaw) on domestic form not something you see very often

Went on to have a series of mediocre scores and never actually looked comfortable. Some blokes just aren't right for the international game. Also at the wrong side of 30 as well

The main one of which was being better cricketers.
Better batting lineup. That bowling attack was far worse (Fast and stupid version of Kemar Roach, Jerome Taylor, Ravi Rampaul, Sulieman Benn and Chris Gayle was the "attack"). IIRC Universe Boss had a ridiculous series with the bat, flaying it to all parts. Also the series that Adrian Barath scored a ton on debut at the Gabba, which was an awesome knock.

Aside from the conditions, though, adjusting to the format might be the biggest challenge for a bowler even as talented as Alzarri. Since turning out in Australia last, he has played six red-ball matches and bowled just 150 overs in Test cricket. In the meantime, he has played 53 white-ball matches, 41 of which have been T20s. By comparison, Australia's captain Pat Cummins has not played a single T20 in that period and 14 Tests, where he has sent down 400 overs to claim 56 wickets at 24.41.

Now, in the past 2 years Alzarri's played 13 tests and taken 45 wickets...bowled 385.5 overs. His average is 31.40

We need to play more tests bro.

What's the point in scheduling more Tests when so many of the best players won't even play the ones they have now tbh

For the West Indies fans, which player playing the T20 circuit would realistically would strengthen the team? On talent alone I'd say Pooran and Holder, but I don't think Holder has his heart in Tests anymore.
