Comfortably underrating Walcott at the very least.
I always rated Weekes one plane above the other two Ws. no disrespect to Walcott at all

Others who are definitely ahead of him off the top of my head (I would also include some of the players you consider as “in his league”)
Boycott, Nourse, Barrington, Simpson, Sutcliffe, May, McCabe, Trumper, Hill
Some are too slow to compete with his match turning abilities - Boycott/ Sutcliffe/ Barrington/ Simpson.
Some are probably in his league - Nourse/ May McCabe.
Trumper and Hill are fair shouts.
If you include them all and if you choose to keep them above Gilly, he still makes it to your top 50.
That is fair and good enough to make him an ATG

There are others too, as well as players who you put “in his same league” that I would place above him. I would not have 50+ batsmen as ATGs either.

I love though again we see the hypocrisy of some players (some even slower than those I mentioned) being included in your list but others get discounted.

Boycott Barrington and Sutcliffe are the under 40 SR guys. Don't know if anyone else on that list is that slow.
Even if there are, why call it hypocrisy? it could be faulty logic according to your point of view. But hypocrisy sounds like I am dishonest.

Hutton also had a sub 40 SR

Hypocrisy because only some players are punished and excluded for it by you, whilst others aren’t. Barrington actually struck at 41. Hutton struck at 38, Border and Compton also struck at 41 but you have no issue with those 3 apparently.

Is there a magic number where it stops being an issue? Apparently not. You have no problem with May being added to that list and he struck at 40.

Not sure if Gilchrist makes the top 75
Certainly won't make the top 75 batsmen with small ears

Gilchrist wasn't an ATG batsman because it was really difficult to become an ATG bat while keeping and batting at 7 that too in what could possibly be one of the top 3 batting lineups of all time but for most part of his career, he averaged in the mid fifties and even topped the ICC rankings for batsmen which is really impressive.

Also don't get the notion that he down hill skied for his runs. There are some truly great knocks but from memory, what he did best was walking in when its 230 for 5 or something with game there to taken and counter attacking his way to a something substantial and in no time, Australia are closing in on 400.

Had he played for a lesser team, he could have batted 4 or 5 and made **** loads of runs for a slightly lesser average. Either way he is certainly not worse than ****ing 75 batsmen wtf was that all about lmao

gilly is an ATG batsman because he had a better average while keeping, so if he gave up the gloves he'd have been better too.
