I mean, the MCG test combo was fine IMO. Its when we insist on 4 rabbits among the 5 bowlers that the problem starts.
Yeah I think that's more what I'm referring to. Having a non-tail in Australia just doesn't pay in the long run, especially when you consider that lower-order runs was the series difference in the last one.

Not a great way for Elgar to finish his test career not many test batsmen bow out on a high though, even Bradman finished his test career on a duck.
