Think his bowling would be more suited to a hypothetical ATG side. His "10 over old ball partnership breaking" spells should benifit a side like that alot more than an alleounder who's better with the newish ball.

I don't think Stokes is an ATG as of yet.... Though if he have a stellar last few years, he could well be.

I know I'm in the minority, but to be an ATG for me, must be ATG in at least one skill. He's a really good all round player

I think this is silly as it implies secondary skills are worth literally zero (and also technically excludes Gilchrist lol) but I think it's probably fair to say you have to at least be a great of your time in your primary discipline (not including keepers) to be an ATG overall. The only possible exception I can think of to that in my mind might be Goddard and he's a really odd cricketer in general.

Stokes' batting is barely above replacement value. He averages less than Bairstow in the same era. No amount of cLuTcH or partnership-breaking can really compensate for that sort of record when we're talking about a category reserved for the best of the best.

High scoring era and low longevity. Disagree
low "longevity"? He played until he was 37. His overall stats actually suffer from not getting to play before late 1999 because of Ian Healy. Missed about 3 years of his peak and instead played on a couple years past it.

Because I love pulling stats out of my ass I'm going to say he would have averaged 54.62 if he played from 96 to 04 instead of 99 to 07
