Why'd they build a stadium in the middle of a paddock though?
Hmmm. Nelson is surrounded by hills and sea and then radiating out from there, big National Parks of Kahurangi and Nelson Lakes. Saxton Oval is located on a clear bit of ground on the edge of Nelson city and before you get to the satellite town of Richmond. Probably the most practical place to put it really.

Similarly, the racecourse is that side of town too. I think just the other side of Richmond. Plenty of horses round those parts.

I don't want to push hate on Nicholls too much (mostly for fear of irking Flem), and I am a fan of playing the best side you've got, but this innings really does demonstrate how the existence of Young renders Nicholls irrelevant – the top 4 is already very set at Conway–Rachin–Williamson–Mitchell after all.

Urgh this Mahmud over (three consecutive 4s for Nicholls, Young chipping one back) seems set to disprove me.

Oh, he's out.

Good innings I guess, you can only play what's in front of you, but no that Nicholls near-ton shouldn't convince anyone of anything. Won't stop some from saying he's ANSWERED HIS DETRACTORS, or similar.
