Yeah we signed him in Jan and he wasn’t in any sort of fitness at all until late September. Been gradually getting up to speed under Adkins and is now bossing every game
Glad he seems to be getting there. Like I said, decent player when fit but no fans were surprised we didn't keep him given his injury record.

He's never been well. Just an utterly lamentable specimen with nothing to redeem him.
He had a couple of years there when he was giving interviews where it sounded like he'd gained a lot of insight and perspective into himself, probably done a lot of therapy, started getting himself an education, pursuing his interest in Philosophy at some uni. I thought it was a pretty interesting story of someone finding redemption but he sounds fkn mental now.

I’ve noticed recently that most people become self aware at some point in their lives, but hardly any actually change as a result of becoming self aware.

Yeah, usually the arrival of self-awareness is followed by a "wait a minute, I was right all along!" revelation, unfortunately. The outcome usually being the doubling down on, or reinforcement of, crap beliefs, rather than their arrest.

I am getting somewhat annoyed by pundits parrotting that we've finally got a Title race this year as if Citeh have won the league by 20 points 5 out of 6 years, pretty sure a couple;e of those went to the last day and even last year Arse had a chance before a collapse at the end.

Just because the favourites win doesn't make it not a race.

"Four games we didn't win - we are not used to that," Guardiola told BBC Match of the Day.

"People say 'City is over already'. This is the challenge that we have ahead of us. Prove them wrong and still be there."

Pep is an ATG and I know what he is doing, but their is literally nobody over the age of ten who thinks City are done and that they won't cruise to the title without breaking sweat.

I remember being at the Arsenal v Newcastle game when Barton came back from a ban (or was it prison time). Everyone was chanting 'You're supposed to be in jail'

Behind the play Nasri was running past and clipped one of his heels so that he fell over himself, dirty but funny move.

Newcastle boss Kevin Keegan believes Arsenal's Samir Nasri should have been sent-off for an off-the-ball incident with Joey Barton:
"Joey came on, got a good tackle in on Nasri. Then the guy sliced him down," said Keegan after the 3-0 defeat.

"I like Nasri - he's a player we looked at for a possible signing but you can't do that.

"I know the referee didn't see it but the linesman did and it should have been a red card."

I find that every age is pretty terrible in comparison to any age you have been previously tbh.

In some ways at least.

But, the grass is always greener I guess.

Life is infinitely more complicated these days in a lot of ways. But, at the same time, I am certainly glad that my weekly budget no longer constrains me to having baked beans and rice for dinner every day, as was the case in my early-to-mid twenties.

Being 15 is pretty terrible. Guess it would probably be worth it to then be 21 again.
16 and 17 not much better either, from what I remember. Definitely one of those halfway house periods of life where you are too old to really be considered a child, and so don't get any of the related benefits, but still very obviously not an adult either.
