He hasn't looked convincing but not many batsmen have on this pitch, one thing Latham is good at is grinding out some ugly runs on a tough pitch.

Dodged a bullet for sure. But whether this tour performance is enough to drop Nicholls remains to be seen.

The real question is who of Conway, Latham or Ravindra bats down the order when Ravindra replaces Nicholls.

Would prefer to see Conway slot down. Always been a make-shift Test opener, good enough a bat to be able to make a success of it, but would like to see him at 3 or 4.
