***Official*** England Tour of the West Indies: December 2023

Norwood's on Fire
Good result but other positives also. The bowling so much better today from what I saw and the scorecard from what I didn’t.

So we go to Barbados for the decider. Our batting needs to step up. Too many holes. All batters need to put their hands up and perform.

Impressed with Rutherford and his maturity with the bat. Hope played well. '

Kudos England, your captain is back in form.

Yep comprehensively outplayed today. Can't help but feel we are carrying Carty and Cariah, who occupy two important spots in the team. I never thought I'd say this, but I'd rather have Chase at this point.

Where to start:

Curran should be given the new ball in ODI's for the next 8 years, boy is a genius.

Buttler's captaincy was superb, clearly in great nick with the bat and oozing confidence.

Well at least Rehan was consistent, literally the exact same bowling figures as the first ODI, even down to the one maiden. 10-1-40-2!! And Atkinson again looking more than useful. Salt makes starts and doesn't go on, becoming a theme.

Carse is still Arse though.

I think Chase will play ahead of Cariah in Barbados.

Carty was in poor form domestically, and has shown so far that this isn't the right format for him, Dessie needs to take responsibility for that.

1-1. We gave West Indies a chance to win but we will dominate the series now

Are they young, average age over 26. That XI would fail the NCCA age limit to play together next season. (Combined age of youngest 8 to be 200 or less as at 1st April).

FBU

International Debutant
Indeed, anything he does with his bowling is a bonus (and he did bowl one horrendous over in that spell).
He misses out on the vice-captaincy...... also Crawley, who was captain against Ireland.

Tests - Stokes, Pope
ODIs - Buttler, Curran
T20s - Buttler, Ali

Jos the Toss in now.
He's been somewhere between poor and horrible for some time now so good to see him perform again.
Wicket-keeping duties aside, having a gun white ball player coming in at number six always feels like a bit of a waste.

Made sense when you had Roy, Bairstow, Root, Morgan, Stokes.

May need a rethink depending on how things go.
