As I said, even in mid- 2000s; Sachin not debuting as a teenager is more likely than not..... Also, I think just by looking at only the top 10 batsmen over a period of 10 years; which were also Sachin's best, is not really a proper metric. Sachin would had scored faster than Virat, like Rohit; that's not the issue here; the issue is Virat's role has been to take his time and build the innings. He doesn't gets the powerplay freedom of Rohit.
2000s was easier for a teenager to get selected.

It may not be a proper metric, but it gives you approximate values.
Its very clear, Sachin and Kohli's avgs are in same ball park while Sachin clearly a league above Kohli in strike rates.

Even in the period Sachin and Kohli played together , their averages were pretty same while Sachin has clear advantage in Strike rate. Sachin's century ratio was better too.

That is because for a good time of that, Virat was a rookie. Sachin was in good form(not peak perhaps). 2nd highest scorer in the 2011 WC

Now, I am not saying an era adjustment is not needed; scoring runs in ODIs are now easier than ever before, but that even after era adjustment, Kohli's average stands tall.
Lol. No.

We saw Sachin averaging almost 50 at a 95 ish Strike rate in his last / worst 4 years.
Prime Sachin would have added at least 5 points to that 50 avg.
And batting conditions got even easier since then.
If you use Simple logic, its clearly evident Sachin is 60 avg batsman for this era.

And Kohli doesn't even have the best avg in his own time. Since Kohli's debut, AB's avg is 61. For 10 years AB dominated Kohli in stats which included Kohli's peak period. 😴

What is prime Sachin? Sachin in the 90s, who was the most attacking batsmen in the world? That guy was a bit of a home track bully? Also, Sachin in 2000s and beyond wasnt that great in terms of SR

During that period, Virat was among top 3 batsmen in the world, and Sachin was becoming a burden for the team.
Kohli's stats didn't improve from there, but the batting conditions became more and more easier and that helped boosting avg and strike rate.

I am saying, Kohli wasnt the best batsman statistically during his own time... It was someone else, and that guy dominated Kohli 10 years.
Bro, the only reason why AB’s stats are better than Kohli’s in that period is because it doesn’t include his early years(which were his worst), and only his best

Didn’t realize how selfish Virat was till this World Cup. It makes sense tho since he grew up idolizing Sachin
Sachin was one of the most selfless cricketer of alltime. Whenever the Target is big, he tries to score faster without caring his own wicket, because India got batsmen who can stay there until the last over, but none of them except Sachin can level the runrate. He scored faster to create room for other batsmen, and never talked about it.

Sachin never played like Virat and Rohit who scored just 25 runs in first 10 overs to chase down a 340 target.

Sachin’s 100th 100 was the most selfless innings ever.
