Bangladesh getting more out of it too, I think.Yeah I didn't see too much either but the main difference seems to be that our spinners would cough up a loose ball every over. Something dragged down or well overpitched and asking to be hit to the boundary. Bangla bowlers on the other hand giving nothing away, mixing the pace up but still maintaining their accuracy. Think they've set their fields very well too, no easy singles around and boundary riders in the right places.
They're just rusty innit. KW getting out prodding forward like that twice in a row isn't normal for example. Should've played a warmup game. The NZ sports media scribes will be writing screeds about how this debacle all stems from “the bizarre decision not to play Rachin Ravindra”. Whether true or not, the angle is obvious, the story writes itself.
If you think Blundell's keeping was bad here just imagine what Latham would've been likeLatham (+)
I reckon they might aswell hit out now , the chances of winning is slim to none ..might aswell try to launchReally disappointing the way we've gone about this chase. Bangladesh have bowled great but we've just allowed them to dictate terms. 28 overs gone and we're barely scoring at two per over. Would have loved to have seen a bit of positivity out there and putting some of the pressure back on the bowlers. Endless defending is dangerous against these bowlers and playing into their hands.
Imagine if we'd gone out and Bazballed it, how would Bangladesh have reacted? Not well, I reckon.
He still has a lot of credits in the bank, that test hundred he scored against Australia at the MCG 4 years ago earned him a truckload of credits.Wow! Not a great test for Blundell.
He really struggled in India with keeping and batting but was great in Pakistan 12 months ago.
Rabbitholed is a great youtube channel, don't know why more media companies don't do the same , the more exposure to test cricket the betterHaving this on Youtube is so great. Much easier to get around the geoblocking and there's no piracy guilt.
I agree 100%. Just pointing it out.He still has a lot of credits in the bank, that test hundred he scored against Australia at the MCG 4 years ago earned him a truckload of credits.
He had a helluva test tour of England & then performed in Pakistan. He’s stood up in crunch situations in the past whereas certain blokes cash in big time on their favoured grounds in NZ but do diddly squat outside of that.He still has a lot of credits in the bank, that test hundred he scored against Australia at the MCG 4 years ago earned him a truckload of credits.

Don't think that hundred carries any weight really tbh, it's well in the past now - all the runs in England last year (and elsewhere) though definitely giving credit. As they should too.He still has a lot of credits in the bank, that test hundred he scored against Australia at the MCG 4 years ago earned him a truckload of credits.
What is a warmup game?

All a bit patronising.South africa is sending a C Side over to NZ in Feb , that would be the perfect opportunity to get in some new blood against the mighty Dane Piedt and Tshepo Moreki..
Give Ravindra a run , NZ win their first ever Test series vs SA and the poster boy gets the glory to hail the start of a new era for the Black Caps , that's the script I would aspire to execute from a New Zealand POV.
There's part of me that wonders whether Santner has now reached that magical age that spinners apparently reach where they suddenly git gud, with his bowling in the World Cup showing a new stage in his development or something. Plus I seem to remember he took a decent bag in a Plunket Shield game recently. But then the more realistic part of me thinks that he'd just do what he's always done at Test level, bowl a bit too fast, not turn it enough and be a bit too loose.Bangladesh getting more out of it too, I think.
But Sodhi and Ajaz definitely known for those four balls every over for a while now. Santner is the same at test match level too, unfortunately.
Yeah all the runs he scored last year in England along with Mitchell earned him a lot of credits too, it wasn't just that ton in Australia that earned them.Don't think that hundred carries any weight really tbh, it's well in the past now - all the runs in England last year (and elsewhere) though definitely giving credit. As they should too.
