no consolation whatsoever, but I think even if England had done better in some of the poor losses they suffered they probably wouldn't have qualified anyway
We're ODI world champs. Clearly the best side.
could be a while before the aussies win again, on for four hosts winning in a row and I wonder if the ICC haven't set it up for India hosting three in six to keep them sweet and tap into a nation for whom their second strongest sport is going to be a wild guess by the vast majority outside of India

Brook gone.
nothing much at stake bar securing $500k for the Champions Trophy in 2025, can't fault him here as England will want to push on if not to win then to maintain a NRR advantage over others

BUT considering the hype and fast-track of him into this format he still has a lot to prove. 292 runs now in his 12th ODI innings, a smidge over 24 in ODIs, a bit higher in World Cups (169/6 so about 28 now) Terrific if it were T20is, well maybe as his SR is still not massively over 100, but maybe just needs to pace himself a little better for big scores - as said not a big criticism for this innings but generally

found one comment on TMS hilarious early doors, "right time for England to be hitting form" (or something like that), yeah, wait until you are out then make it look easy! ranks right down there with half the tripe Burger King worker et al come out with! :D:wacko:

honestbharani

Whatever it takes!!!
*Moeen Ali hits a 6*

*commentator - what a great shot*

Waqar Younis - No doubt it was a wonderful throw, but what about that shot?

The guy is just so shittily biased on comms. Even in a world full of biased af commentators he sticks out like a sore thumb.

Moeen Ali owes England a late cameo. One for stealing a living and two for running out the captain.
bit late so his debt may never be repaid, averaging low 20s with bat and 50 with ball 2020-2023, might just be good enough to play for Bangladesh, Sri Lanka or Holland, probably not Afghans - well done to them btw on reaching CT
