Cricket is a long game and sometimes batsmen have to wait long time before coming out unless you are playing t20. Its also tough to constantly sit and be ready to go with all the gears on. I don’t know exactly what but the law needs to be changed somewhat for this.

To me the exact time it took Mathew's to get to the crease and if his chin strap was broke at 1 minute 55 or 2 minutes 5 seconds, is irrelevant.

I mean how many international matches have been played- 1000s.

There must have been multiple occasions over the years when for one reason or another a batter hasn't hit the time limit and yet there's not been 1 dismissal for timed out.

The law I presume is there to stop teams time wasting by taking excessive time to get to the crease, Mathew's was clearly not trying to gain any sort of advantage.

If an umpire has to ask you if are you sure you want to appeal, that's a clear sign that you shouldn't.

The box and jockstrap should always be on at all times. ;)
There's nothing funnier than someone getting hit in the nads with no box on.

Actually, there is one thing funnier, and that's the fact that nothing guarantees you will get hit in the balls more than not wearing a box.

A good length should be renamed 'the jatz cracker length' as that's where it's hitting if it comes back in a bit.

Yeah, umpire might as well be saying “calm down, don’t be a **** & let’s get on with the game”

This is the timeline:
  • Time 0 (3:18:57 of my feed): batter out
  • 1 minute 27 seconds: Angelo Mathews is out in the middle and "fist bumps" his partner.
  • 1 minute 50 seconds: He is at his batting crease
  • 1 minute 53 seconds: His strap breaks
  • 2 minutes 24 seconds: Shakib goes over to Matthews and the umpires, asking what is going on, and Matthews shows him the broken strap
  • 2 minutes 50 seconds: Umpire takes one look back at Bangladesh, walks over to Matthrews sheepishly with his hands out and shrugs his shoulder
  • 3 minutes: Matthews seems pissed. Likely Shakib has insisted on the appeal
  • 3 minutes and 16 seconds: Runner has brought the new helmet to Matthews
This is the sort of content I demand going forward. Love it.

Based on this, although we all know it, Shakib is an sub-par human being
