apparently angelo was late to the infield and it was already 4-5 minutes since the wicket fell

The Mathews time out controversy was manufactured by the cricket commercial complex, to allow for more lengthy television commercial breaks. As Bangladesh will be vilified in this scenario, we will start seeing longer and longer ads during wicket intervals, to get cricket in line with more commercialized American sports.

Mathews has not managed to get Hit Wicket, Handled Ball or Obstructed Field in any form of the game yet. Hopefully this inspires him. Has there ever been a player to get the set?
Handled the ball & Obstructing the Field are the same dismissal now, so he's only two short of the set. You'd also need to check warm up games and the like to find if he's retired out at some point too.

From CI:

Mathews was yet to put on the new helmet, and Karunaratne was still standing near the pitch when Mathews was informed by Erasmus that he had been timed out. At this stage, at least three minutes and twenty seconds had elapsed since Samarawickrama's dismissal.

I think the fact that this is the 1st time a player has been timed out in international cricket says it all.

Mathews can't have been the 1st cricketer to maybe be a bit tardy to the crease or have an equipment issue, but no team previously has ever decided to appeal for a dismissal under such circumstances.

The majority of cricket followers would I'd imagine think is a pretty poor show from Bangladesh.
