Did he have any choice in the matter?I'm kinda amazed the umpire gave it out tbh. That's worse than the decision to appeal

What can the umpire do? He just has to apply the laws. He can no doubt suggest to Shakib that he's being a **** and might want to withdraw the appeal, but otherwise, his hands are tied.I'm kinda amazed the umpire gave it out tbh. That's worse than the decision to appeal
yeah lol he was facing Shakib not a pacerCouldn't Mathews have gone out without a helmet and someone bring him one on the field?
Did he have a choice once Bangladesh appealed?I'm kinda amazed the umpire gave it out tbh. That's worse than the decision to appeal
Yeah he could have said ''not out'' and why are you even appealing you douche bags.Did he have a choice once Bangladesh appealed?
And destroy his reputation by not applying the Laws. I mean if you want to make umpires more of a target then go ahead with that.Yeah he could have said ''not out'' and why are you appealing you douche bags.
Isn't it also a law to apply the safety rules though? Seriously how would that destroy his reputation. And destroy his reputation by not applying the Laws. I mean if you want to make umpires more of a target then go ahead with that.
If he's picking and choosing when to apply laws that's not great. Don't get the safety concerns though, Shakib is not Mitchell Starc.Isn't it also a law to apply the safety rules though? Seriously how would that destroy his reputation.
He could easily have made the decision that Mathews was there to face a ball within the time, and the delay for a change of helmet is a separate one. Since the intent of the law is all about getting batsmen out of the pavillion and there's a whole other part about timewasting or similar the umpire is free to decide that the timed out dismissal doesn't apply imo. What can the umpire do? It’s not a schoolboy error if the strap on his helmet broke though.I mean yeah it may be a schoolboy error and all but appealing is 10x more childish.
Intimidating umpire must be a bannable offence. Which tournament was this?
He’s probably the worst human being to play international cricket since Runako MortonYeah, that's probably it. However, given the regulations surrounding concussion protocols these days, to time a guy out because his helmet strap broke as he put it on doesn't sit well. It's just a complete ****show from Shakib to be honest, although not overly surprising.
