Looking at the previous pages I don’t know if Anderson is a boring bowler. It’s just boring how he usually needs the conditions and pitch in his favour to be at his best. Where as other all time greats aren’t relying on that all the time. Being boring doesn’t matter though as long as your effective in your team and helping them win matches

Passable left arm darts. Wasn't completely terrible, but nothing noteworthy about his bowling

Had a good few years in the ODI side and was mediocre to good - then played during the 10/11 Ashes and you could see what a limited bowler he was

He was an economical white ball bowler who did well in ODIs and T20s, far from boring and pretty similar to Vettori in a lot of ways. Not sure how/why he was pushed to the test side.

Im not TOO familiar with that era of Australia cricket but I assume doherty would have been a result of the lack of spinners AUS had between warne and lyon, right? We tried a ton of other random solutions to that problem that where far worse than doherty (cough, marcus north, cough).

Xavier Doherty was ordinary, however if the exact same bowler was Sri Lankan or Bangladeshi he'd have been very successful in Test cricket.

Anywau he actually flighted and ripped the ball more than a lot of Australian finger spinners so he's not even close to being the most boring of that bunch. Steve O'Keefe probably would hold that title
