The hilarious thing is that you absolutely know that this exact same XI playing with more confidence could easily come out and blow every other side out of the water at their best. Shows how fine the margins are between dominance and, well, not.
Their bowling's got real issues but yeah the batting lineup should be doing so much better.

Looks like England wanted to get a feel of the infamous Bengaluru traffic and played bad enough to be on the roads in the evening.

ICC might rate this pitch as average pitch after rating Chennai pitch (IND vs Aus) and Ahmedabad ( IND vs PAK ) as average pitch.

Srilanka will regret losing to Pakistan now . They had a serious chance of making to semi-finals.
Losing Chameera and Hasaranga before the tournament really hurt us ..If those two play with the way our batting has been firing, I think we add minimum 1 more win to our tally so far .

Also I don't think it's a coincidence that results improve with Shanaka out the team either..

We took a bit of gamble putting faith in Maheesha Pathirana and Dunith Wellalage in the beginning, it didn't pay off but the Madushanka selection most certainly did, overall the sentiment back home is not one of expectations that this team makes top 4 , but we did want to see signs of progress for the future and we have definitely seen that.

I think this is a very talented young group , who will be better for this experience. Maybe the next World Cup we can do something.

SL is a very good young side . One very good pacer and one good spinner and they will be back to Top 4 side .

Yeah, Lanka look very talented. Esp Mendis and the young seamers.
England are out, and after tomorrow's Pakistan - Saffers game, we'll pretty much know the last 4.

Sad that Sri Lanka would pick on such minnows like England. Really need to work on their sporting sense for such an occasion.

Surely there are cricketing reasons that explain their failures more than "lack of confidence". In any case, confidence hasn't been an issue with English side for about 5 years.
