The talking point going around that this is because they don't play domestic List As seem misplaced for me. This isn't because of a lack of familiarity or rhythm in the format, this is all just collective horrendous form and likely poor leadership.

If SL win this match, and we (NZ) beat the Aussies it could be an interesting battle between Aus, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka for the 4th spot.

I think it's all of that. They don't play domestic List A now, the only time that is on it clashes with 100.

Obviously for alot on here, our capitulation in this WC is a joyous thing.

But for us England fans, this is really horrible to watch. Not only the performances, but to see so many players who have served us so well, bow out of WC cricket like this is really a tough tough watch.

I think the criticism has more been that they don't play ODIs anymore either. England have played amongst the least ODIs of any team since the last World Cup, and in many of those they played B and C teams. Not playing List A cricket doesn't matter if you've got a competitve group of players regularly playing ODIs, but they... didn't.

I do think that has played a part, especially since they did the total opposite in the last cycle.

Surely all the doubters will now agree Coach is useless and we have a captain who could not inspire anybody. He even smiles at interview when we have been stuffed. How can Brook not get in this batting line up.Livingstone ??Team selection is a total mess. What happened to selling your wicket dearly

Yeah the lack of domestic List A is more of a long term issue than one that’s affecting this group. Though I suppose there’s an argument that it’s very hard for anyone to force their way in, I mean look at the Brook saga.

Lack of ODIs absolutely an issue though.
