*Official* Match 15 - South Africa v Netherlands - October 17, Dharamsala

Why does Rabada not open the bowling anymore?
I think its a case of Ngidi been good with the newer ball but not so great with the older until it gets to late in the innings and and his change ups become more effective; and Jansen looking for swing with the newer ball. Whereas Rabada can still be highly effective even with the shine off, and produces nice middle over threat and also leaves Rabada for end of the innings.

Game is over already.

We haven't had a single match this world cup that's been really close. No team has won by 3 wickets or less or won in the last over or won by less than 20-25 runs.

The best we have had so far is
-a win by 5 wickets or
-it's 10 balls remaining with 6 wickets left or
-it's winning by 69 runs for a team batting first

6/14 have been won batting first. Will soon be 6/15.

5 of the 9 wins by the chasing side have been totals of under 250 which sides these days can chase in their sleep, it would be very dangerous to assume chasing gives an automatic advantage without looking at the conditions properly at each venue (As England found out)

Not that I thought that Netherlands would upset SA, but a bit disappointed that they haven't shown up in what is nigh on a bit of a 'grudge match' for them.

Yeah I totally agree.

Chasing gives an advantage only if you bowl well first up lol. If you don't bowl well and are chasing a big total, you are likely to lose IMO as we have found out in some games.

And each venue is different and most of them I don't thing there is a huge advantage in bowling first.

For example, Delhi seemed like a chasing ground when India easily chased 270 against Afghanistan in 35 overs but turned out to be difficult for chasing when England had to chase a similar total against the same opponent.

If Pakistan had set India 300, it would have been a totally different game.

So whatever you do first, do it well and you have a good chance to win and even if 2nd half of 2nd innings there is dew, it doesn't stop you from bowling well. You can wipe the ball with a towel.

Am I right in saying the Netherlands don't have a single ODI match scheduled against a test playing nation after this world cup until 2027(if they were to qualify for the next edition)

Lol hardly, a bit of drizzle and a delayed start when you're 2 from 2, with a strong NRR. Chill.
We went out of the T20 WC cause of a washed out game vs Zim in our first three games. Every reason to start worrying when the rain comes for us.

Seems atleast we will be spared today.

That was probably out but not sure the decision making was articulated sufficiently there. 3rd umpire said there was a gap between bat and ball. True for the first spike but not the second. Can't overturn the decision, but it should have been stated there was insufficient evidence.

Not enough evidence to overturn the original decision , good call by the Umpire ..

ICC has killed ODI with its greed. T20 WC every 2 year and WTC Final every 2 year . So one format was always going to be neglected .
