It is an illegal tackle - head can't hit head. There was one by Fiji last week where it stayed a yellow because the player stepped at the last moment, so will be interesting to see if this also stays yellow.

Yeah i understand that, but until Smith steps and headbutts the fiji 14, the tackle was legal with wrap etc, whereas curry was always an illegal act, that flippe dTuisova, which should have also been at least yellow.

Anyway, game goes on etc.

There have been a few I've seen where the attacker drops his head into contact but not sure that was an example. Smith stepped, onus on the tackler to keep his head down and out the way.

Not sure Tom Curry can actually tackle legally.

Not every no arms tackle is a yellow in the rules. I think that was a pretty harmless one too.
