I don't remember Mitchell Marsh being this bad a fielder..Inzamam Ul-MarshHaha that should've been caught too. Did someone slip these guys a brown paper bag this morning.
Two???That’s two-time Ashes winning wicketkeeper Alex Carey to you thanks .
Was never a catch tbh but he still misjudged the flight of itI don't remember Mitchell Marsh being this bad a fielder..Inzamam Ul-Marsh
Home and away Ashes winner. One of eachTwo???
There are a number of teams in this tournament that have a lot of 30 somethings, this could be the poorest fielding World Cup for a while as a result.I don't remember Mitchell Marsh being this bad a fielder..Inzamam Ul-Marsh
He was in the 2001 squad???Home and away Ashes winner. One of each
Only de Kock has made it look like a good batting pitch so far, it looks tough for the other batsmen. There’s been a few mistimed balls drop into gaps today. I don’t think this is as good a batting pitch as SA have made it seem tbh. It feels like it’s a bit up and down but SA batted well/ Aus fielding (more than the bowling) not been great
I agree re: Carey. Haddin would have laughed at the carry on, told them to go **** themselves multiple times, and taken great joy in rubbing their faces in it by scoring runs and having another shy at the stumps whenever he could.Says a lot that he's getting selected.
That strong Aussie mindset didn't seem to be in Carey's head, couldn't even get over that run out.
The test keeper isn’t always the best keeper for shorter formats anyway. A lot of teams don’t have the same keeper for all formats. Batting matters a hell of a lot in odis. Look at the other teams and some their keepers are close to the best batters for their teams like Rizwan, Rahul, Butler etc. we cant be having some specialist keeper on the team who’s a walking wicket right nowThat’s two-time Ashes winning wicketkeeper Alex Carey to you thanks .
2023 Ashes series winner in precisely the same way England won the 2019 World Cup.He was in the 2001 squad???
I understand that but Carey was arguably the best Australian batsman at the last WC outside the openers. It’s not like Inglis has knocked the door down. I think if he hadn’t made that score in one of the last ODIs pre WC inglis might have got the nod game one. He’s been in poor form a while but can see why they backed him to come good given his last WCThe test keeper isn’t always the best keeper for shorter formats anyway. I don't recall us winning the World Cup in 2015 and then retaining it because it rained in one of the games......2023 Ashes series winner in precisely the same way England won the 2019 World Cup.
Inglis probably deserves this chance more than Carey at the moment though. We’ll have to see how he does when he bats. Yeah Carey was good before but like the last year and especially since that Bairstow stumping his batting has been a big liability. As a keeper in odis you’re not getting no where near as many nicks behind and play and misses as well.I understand that but Carey was arguably the best Australian batsman at the last WC outside the openers.
