They got put into bat on a ground where teams struggled with the bat just 3 days ago. They're going to score well over 350. They won't be the last team to lose a few when the slog is on.
Firstly that looks like good batting conditions out there to me, and secondly this is the 2nd time in 2 games they've lost far too many late wickets towards the back-end.

Hang on. You can't use Roy's T20 record unless you're prepared to bring Brook's in. If so, there's not even a debate to be had.
We look a proper batter short in the middle order but that's because of having no Stokes and I can't say I have much confidence in Livingstone or Ali, when either plays to be honest.

Would certainly have taken 364 at the start, but feels like we've left a few out there. Bang bowled well though in the last 10 and perhaps showed England what was required.

Issue against NZ was losing too many early wickets, 90-3 when Brook got himself out. The decision to put Moeen in at 5 was daft and screwed up the order.

66 from the final 10 with 7 wickets in hand is poor whichever way you dress it up.

Going to need to keep them at 5 an over all innings to get the NRR back to evens.

FWIW Livingstone is ****, an ugly slogger who believes his own hype.

Considering batting is Banga's weakness in this WC, I'll be massively surprised if they even push England close & get within 70 runs.
Yeah. Could have done with 400 though to recover the NRR. At least it's the Afghans next.

Just need to win the game. Key matches will be Pakistan and SA, win those and qualification should be fine.

To be fair to LL, he did get a decent delivery first up.

Yeah, be nice to get the NRR back to respectability but it's only going to be relevant if we lose more than a couple of matches, or have rain offs.

Topley will be key with the ball. Extra bounce against Bangladesh.
Now there's someone I rate. England really missed a trick not playing him against NZ. I'm sure NZ's batting line-up was just fine with that decision.

They should just try get through the new ball at 3 an over with 9 wickets in hand. Let's not kid ourselves, we're going to get nowhere near this total. The fans don't think we are, the opposition don't think we are and most importantly, our players don't think we are. The best outcome here is a damage control exercise for NRR. Just play yourself in lads, get through the new ball, milk the singles during the middle overs and let's see if we can get to 280.

No seriously, don't try to win this. DO NOT. TRY. TO WIN THIS.

England really screwed up that last 10 overs, they should still have enough to win but they had a chance to get 400 and put this game right out of reach

Should have been 420-430. The lower order is a bit of a worry IMO going forward. Ben Stokes (Even if he played a few games) is badly missed

terrible post by your usually good standards, apologise immediately
I'm blind was half on a team call when he got out. Not sure why I singled him out

But as a general rule he's so much better than being a legside slogger.
