You are taking this bowler bias to extreme lengths. Kohli by 2019 was steering clear of Dravid and heading to Gavaskar territory.
Only Indian batter I would put above everyone else is Tendulkar. Gavaskar isn't clear of people like Ashwin/Jadeja at all and it's a shame that people refuse to accept that bowlers are more valuable in general, let alone the quality of the bowlers.

This may have been the case for you. It was not a universal opinion. Some Randoms 5 years projecting what his trajectory could have been is a worthless metric.

I’m kinda low key hoping, he has a big enough series in Eng and NZ to push his average there above 40, and one good series vs Cummins and Co in Aus. Could be rated on par with Gavaskar then.
I don't think so. He will end up in the top 20 bats though of all time.

Dravid probably wouldn’t average 50+ in this era
He'd still hang around at one end to let batters at other end play with more freedom with them knowing that there is Dravid batting at one end.

That's what he bought to the team. A sense of calmness and confidence that was clearly lacking in tough conditions prior to his debut. And something India is missing, to an extent, after his retirement.

He averaged 50 in the 4 years he played in the ****ing 90s as a youngster but he wouldn't average 50 today lmao. Gtfo.
Dravid doesn’t even average 50 if you take out bangaldesh and zimbabwe tho. India barely play against those two teams now. Kohli is a better player of quality bowling and isn’t averaging 50 at the moment

Kohli could have easily averaged 50+ if he was a minnow basher like some other "greats". But he is a player of the likes of Hobbs, Richards and Miller who likes to perform when it's the hardest.
