I seriously doubt it , hope to be proven wrong .Not going to call up Bedingham then?

Bavuma and Jason Smith have SA20 deals. So realistically I think this might be the Test XI for the NZ tour based on whose been picked before and whose available:
1.Dean Elgar
2.Tony De Zorzi
3.Keegan Petersen
4.Temba Bavuma (C)
5.Zubayr Hamza
6.Jason Smith
7.Sinethemba Qeshile (WK)
8.Shaun Von Berg
9.Glenton Stuurman
10.Duane Olivier
11.Lutho Sipamla
Haha that just looks so much better than the 5-bowler version. The more I think about it, especially with his great domestic form in the format, the more I think it was a huge missed opportunity to get Mulder in this team at #5, or at least given him a run there to see if he was up to it. He's not a finisher which is why I think they've been reluctant to chuck him in at 7, but Klaasen and Miller are great at that anyway.
I also think Markram and Rassie should swap in the order but that's not a big deal. But this team would seem like a real genuine challenger to me:
1 Bavuma
2 de Kock
3 Markram
4 Rassie
5 Mulder
6 Klaasen
7 Miller
8 Jansen
9 Maharaj
10 Rabada
11 Shamsi/Ngidi
That lineup is gun IMO. Coetzee, Linde and spare batsman of choice (I'd have probably gone with Malan but if they're keen on Reeza based on T20 form then alright) to make up the rest of the squad.
Think they see him as more of a Test player at the moment I think but his form in domestic white ball, in SA and UK, means he should get a look in soon I think.Mulder has never been given a fair shake… possibly picked a little young but these consistent one off matches for the SA team have never let him settle and prove himself.
Yes, I think so too... but even in Tests he has not been given a run. Picked for occasional Test. Never once just backed his clear talent and stuck with him... and now with so few Tests?! He is not likely to ever get a chance to settle.Think they see him as more of a Test player at the moment I think but his form in domestic white ball, in SA and UK, means he should get a look in soon I think.
Yes, let's see if he gets a run in our next Test series. I think it's in December against India?Yes, I think so too... but even in Tests he has not been given a run. Picked for occasional Test. Yep the full two Tests....Yes, let's see if he gets a run in our next Test series. I think it's in December against India?
It's like watching the first two LOTR movies and then being told all copies of the third one have been destroyed and you will never be able to watch it.Yep the full two Tests....
Corbin Bosch also has been given a pretty raw deal ..Averages 40 at a SR of over 100 and can bowl reasonably quick ..Shukri Conrad does seem to be in favour of having an allrounder in the side, so that may mean that Mulder gets the run he needs on those rare occasions we play a test match. It's possible he might miss out if it's felt a spinning allrounder suits conditions better, but that's not the same thing as not backing him.
Bosch's List A bowling average is 36.85 with an economy of 5.91. That's arguably acceptable for a fifth bowler, but they're not figures which are crying out for him to be picked, so I'm not sure that his omission counts as a raw deal. Certainly not as much as Mulder, who has continually been in and out of the team.Corbin Bosch also has been given a pretty raw deal ..Averages 40 at a SR of over 100 and can bowl reasonably quick ..
Okay name me players in domestic cricket that average over 40 with a SR over 100 that can bowl ?Bosch's List A bowling average is 36.85 with an economy of 5.91. Hmmm I think you might be focusing too much on that stat. He doesn't have a 100 in any form of cricket and is 29. Realistically I think he is far down the pecking order in terms of allrounder selection.Okay name me players in domestic cricket that average over 40 with a SR over 100 that can bowl ?
The question is whether he bowls well enough to take on the fifth bowler duties. While Mulder may not have a strike rate of 100, 94.53 isn't far off and he's a better bowler than Bosch.Okay name me players in domestic cricket that average over 40 with a SR over 100 that can bowl ?
