Jokes on all of you when my favourite JAMODI, as posted earlier in the thread, finishes #1

Wow all ten people in the stadium consider it the best innings ever.

Tell me about all the sweat and tension in Zimbabwe's innings too. Must have been a real cracker.
I mean as per the players and those watching it there was tension when Zimbabwe looked like they might chase it down.

I hate this stupid idea that you have to see **** for it to be great. Am I supposed to think people I never saw like Bradman and Sobers are overrated hacks padding their stats against farmers and plumbers? You can't rate older events and players as greats and then turn around and say X event you didn't see was not great. Or basically ignore the context involved then.

what is this moronic bullshit gatekeeping? is Kusal Perera’s test 100 in South Africa now insignificant because there wasn’t much crowd seeing it live in the stadium?

its also funny you keep dissing the Zimbabwe team when they had defeated Australia just 2 days before this match

Whatever it takes!!!
I stopped watching the NatWest final after Tendulkar got out. That game was the turning point in that Indian fans no longer switched off TV after Tendulkar's dismissal.
I watched it fully. At that time we had about 12 people in my house and me and grandma were the only ones who kept the faith and kept watching.

No it was a great innings partly because we have video where we can watch and attest to it.

And you miss the point that the entire second half of the match wasn't great at all but just a minnow losing.

Pretty sure if we had video footage of this game, most here wouldnt put it in the 20 best games of all time since there are many other better options we would have watched and attested to.

My critique is the same critique as the AB knock selection too by the way. Great knock is not a great game. Not that hard to understand.

India at that time weren't far off being minnows regardless though, it's not as uneven a contest as say current England vs current Afghanistan. To act like Zimbabwe weren't proper threats when the situation was pretty bad until Kapil's intervention is idiotic. Even a mosquito has more intelligence than some of these posts from you @subshakerz. So what if older games had poorer quality as far as skill goes? Doesn't that apply to people like Bradman and others as well? Maybe you could one day start to actually understand and like cricket? It would be very enlightening for you. It might teach you to have some ****ing respect for all games regardless of whether or not you could watch them and pass whatever 'judgement' you can on the games.

Not that tough to understand really as most of the viewership comes from India.

Had any Indian made 237 in QF, that would have surely made the list. Not to mention that WI attack was lot superior to that Zimbabwe attack.
Just like Ganguly 183 vs SL in 1999 WC or Sehwag 175 vs Bangladesh in 2011 WC made the list .

I love how worked up you get over a game nobody saw over 30 years ago.

You haven't actually addressed my point of how a great innings from Kapil makes a great game. If that is the criteria, there are quite a few innings better than Kapil's, which was likely a slogfest minnow bashing, that aren't on the list.
